V. Kana Rahman
Ms. Rahman practices in the area of Criminal Defense in the Federal, State, Summary and Municipal courts of South Carolina. She has Successfully defended citizens accused of a broad range of crimes including Murder, Criminal Sexual Conduct, Robbery, and various Drug offenses. She also practices in the area of Family Law, dealing in issues of Divorce, Child Support, and Custody. Finally, she practices in Immigration Law, in issues of family-based and employment immigration, deportation and removal proceedings.
Born in Austria, then living in Vancouver, Canada, she then came to South Carolina in 1986. She qrew up, the oldest of two children, in Columbia. After graduating from Spring Valley High School, Kana attended college at Penn State University. Upon graduation she returned home to South Carolina and completed her law education at the University of South Carolina.
Ms. Rahman joined the Richland County Solicitor’s office as a law clerk throughout her years in law school. After graduating from law school in 1999, she began work as an Assistant Solicitor. During that time she prosecuted numerous citizens accused of a variety of felony and misdemeanor crimes. She gained a great deal of experience in representing clients from the time of arrest through the trial of their case.
In December 2003, Kana became of counsel to The Rutherford Law Firm, where she continues to represent citizens accused of various criminal offenses as well as in family matters and immigration concerns.
