Lori S. Murray
Mrs. Murray practices in the area of Personal Injury representing those injured in accidents. She has successfully represented injured persons in a variety of areas including workers’ compensation, automobile accidents, medical malpractice, slip and fall, homeowner liability and defamation of character. Mrs. Murray, a former prosecutor for the Richland County Solicitor’s office, also practices in the area of criminal defense and has represented persons charged with criminal activity in the Federal, State, and Municipal Courts of South Carolina. She has successfully defended those charged with a variety of crimes including drug offenses, DUI, Armed Robbery, Burglary and Criminal Sexual Conduct.
Born in Florence, South Carolina and raised in Kingstree, South Carolina, Mrs. Murray is the middle of three daughters born to Wanda Sigler and the late Dr. Leon Sigler. She was married in 1997 to Brett Murray and has two small children, Grayson (4 yrs.) and Cannon (2 yrs.). She is a 1989 graduate of Williamsburg Academy in Kingstree, South Carolina and a 1993 graduate of the University of South Carolina where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Criminal Justice. In 1996, she obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar Association in November, 1996.
Upon completion of her legal education, Mrs. Murray served as a law clerk to the Honorable C. Victor Pyle in Greenville, South Carolina where she assisted His Honor in presiding over both criminal and civil courts. In 2000, Mrs. Murray accepted a position as a state prosecutor for the Richland County Solicitor’s Office and prosecuted those accused of a wide variety of crimes including both felony and misdemeanor charges. Prior to accepting this position, Mrs. Murray practiced in the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice defense.
In March 2002, Mrs. Murray entered private practice serving as counsel to the Rutherford Law Firm where she continues to represent those injured in accidents or hurt on the job and those accused in criminal courts.
